Youth Coaching

Do kids need a coach?

I'm often asked if kids or teenagers should be seeking the help of a nutrition coach, and the honest answer is: Maybe.

Children and teenagers have bodies that are still growing, as well as identities that are still forming. At this stage, it's important to keep the emphasis on healthy habits and how the body feels while minimizing the importance of weight, clothing size, and physical appearance. With eating disorders on the rise, it's imperative that we instill body acceptance and great habits at a young age.

What does youth coaching look like?

Youth coaching and adult coaching focus on the same habits and skills, but branch into different directions after those skills have been established.

If your child is expressing interest in weight loss, let's get to the reasoning behind it. From there, we can shape the healthy habits and shift the focus from solely aesthetic to one of deeper health and performance.

With over a decade of teaching experience and a background in social work, I feel confident that I am able to approach this subject and get your child excited about food and fitness, while helping them stay true to themselves.
